Life Drawings (CRITIQUE PLEASE)

Ok so here is some of my later life drawings from the end of the last semester. (please critique these drawings) I was hoping to have some to show from last week too but due to being sick and knowing I wouldn't be in the right mind set for life drawing I chose not to go. Although I went tonight and my drawings were pure crap but hopefully this will change by the end of next week. Anyway here they are! and again, critiques.. PLEASE! I really need to learn how to make these drawings even simpler and improve on my lineweight. (and well anything else you can see I may need improvements on)

i didn't write down the times of the first two on the page but they were both 3 minute poses. unfortunantly for this top pose i had to try and squeeze the head in there and as you can see it obviously didn't work.

Storyboard - The Mystery Box

This is the end of semester in class storyboard that we had to do involving a character having a small box but finding a larger one but not being able to open it and end up going back the small box.

I purposely didn't show camera shots or write down anything going on in the scenes. Sure I lost marks because of this but I just wanted to see if you could tell what is going on in my story by just looking at the drawings.

Sketches and then some!

this is a sketch i did of the oh so pleasent guy who lives across the hall from me. Although he isn't happy at all in real life and always looks like he wants to kill somebody so I figured I'd draw him in a happy mood. He also has a pony tail and ALWAYS wears a track suit, and because of this I call him "track suit larry"

this is a quit little sketch / painting i did of a photo i found of my mom on my 3rd birthday (1987). gotta love the 80's

an idea for a painting i did over the holidays. I'll post it when I finish another paiting that I started over the holidays.

Another sketch / quick water color painting I did of an old photo I found of my dad. I guess this was from the early 80's. On the next page I did a semi characture of him that I may somehow use in character design this semester.



these next two pages are random drawings I did sitting in Pearson airport waiting to board the plane to fly me back to St. John's. There is also some drawings of people that were also waiting for planes going wherever or just arriving from flights.

and well these.. are women.. lacking in clothing as you can see.

Final Painting Assignment

Well I've finished my final assignment when it comes to painting for the year of 2006. Hopefully this weekend I'll actually start / finish a painting that wont be school related since almost everything I post on here happens to tie into school. Even my most recent character design that I did on my own time ended up being used as my final in class assignment for storyboarding. guess.

Bones galore

ahhh. finally all of my assignments are complete for life drawing class for the remainder of this semester. high five! so ya. here are some bones for you to take a gander at. Keep in mind all the drawings done with brown paper were drawn with my wrong hand; although some of my drawings with my left hand are pretty shitty; for instance my 3/4 view of the skull.

the hunter.. the beaver... and the squirrel

so myself and a couple other people in my class had a really odd discussion about squirrels umongst other things and somehow I came up with the idea of coming up with a hunter who hates squirrels so he spends his whole life trying to kill them.. He happens to have a pet beaver that he uses to knaw down trees to destroy their homes.. yes he is a cruel cruel man with nothing better to do with his time. so here are some sketches of the 3 amigos. I'll probably do more with these 3 characters in the near future.

Landscape Painting

This is a painting that was due last week but I had to make some changes but in the event of having to leave class early I didn't get time to finish it off until now!... what I wanted to fix semi worked but due to the low grade water color paper I used for the painting things didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped. But at least now I know to buy better paper for my final assignments. :)

All in all I'm semi pleased with it. Hopefully my final paintings for the semester turn out better.

Gordon !

He's the worst wrestler to ever enter the ring. Not to mention he Wrestles in the WWF.. ahem sorry. "WWE" Anyway. Due to his incredible stupidity being brain washed from watching wrestling 24/7 on the boob tube his life long dream has always been to be a famous wrestler. And well it has happened to him but only because he's so horrible and doesn't even realise it. He was born in the suburbs somewhere in New York but claims to be from Brooklyn to try and fit his "tuff" look. and now... for GORDON! enjoy.

Latest Painting Assignment

So this is a concept for one of two paintings that is due in a couple weeks time. The second painting will be similar except really dark with lava n' so forth.. kinda hellish looking.

Royal Winter Fair

Well my class umongst other 1 year animation students went to the "Royal Winter Fair" today and to say the least was a rather enjoyable experience if you could block out the rancid smells of cow dung and so forth. Here's a drawing of a sheep that I think looks like the KKK that I did today.
